Hi, I'm Isobel
Early Beginnings

My journey into SoulEssence began through quiet moments of reflection, creativity and a lifelong sense of connection to the contemplative and symbolic dimensions of life.

As a child, I was deeply drawn to stillness, ritual and sacred spaces - fascinated by cloisters, candlelight, music and the scent of incense lingering in the air.

Even then, I sensed that there was something meaningful and restorative within beauty, silence and presence.

Life unfolded through devotion of another kind as a wife and mother, while the quieter threads of creativity, spirituality and reflection continued to weave gently through the background of my life.
Soul Calling

Music became one of the deepest pathways into this work.

Sitting beside my father as he approached the end of his life, I played harp and sang softly at his bedside. The experience profoundly shaped my understanding of tenderness, transition, presence and the quiet depth of human connection. It was this experience that eventually led me towards training in harp therapy, deepening my understanding of how music, creativity and compassionate presence can support emotional healing and reflection.

Through the harp, I became increasingly drawn towards the quieter and more contemplative dimensions of human experience - the spaces where words often fall away and something deeper can be felt.

The harp eventually led me towards the Ceilé Dé tradition and the contemplative spirituality of places such as Iona, where I experienced a deep connection to ancient rhythms of prayer, creativity, ritual and soul friendship.

It was during this period that the first SoulEssences began to emerge - created not simply as fragrances, but as reflective sensory blends inspired by symbolism, beauty, memory and emotional connection. It deepened my commitment to work that honours reflection, creativity, emotional healing and the often unseen dimensions of human experience.

Women's Circles & Therapeutic Work

My work as an art psychotherapist with women and children has strengthened my understanding of the healing potential of creativity, symbolism, reflection and compassionate presence.

Again and again, I have witnessed how image, story, colour, imagination and creative expression can help people reconnect with themselves in ways words alone often cannot.
Alongside my therapeutic work, this has gradually led to the creation of women’s circles and contemplative spaces inspired by archetype, myth, storytelling and the restorative experience of gathering together in reflection and shared humanity.

These circles are designed as gentle spaces for connection, creativity, listening, contemplation and emotional nourishment.
The Emergence of SoulScape
Over time, my interests expanded into symbolic systems including the Tree of Life, the Gene Keys, archetypal psychology and contemplative spiritual traditions. These influences gradually came together within the SoulScape offerings - reflective explorations designed to help people better understand recurring patterns, strengths, creativity, emotional themes and the deeper movements shaping their lives.

SoulScape is intended as a contemplative and symbolic framework for self-reflection, meaning making and personal insight, where each SoulScape weaves together archetypal reflection, symbolic systems, intuitive inquiry and thoughtful conversation to create a deeply personal exploration of the inner landscape.
